About Us

Meet The Trainers

Axis Training is all about having fun while becoming healthy.  We teach our clients how to be healthy, workout properly, and live life to the fullest.  We live our lives by the same philosophies we teach.

Living a healthier life is more than just coming to the gym and working out.  It is knowing how to do it correctly and how to do things in moderation.  Health is a very personal journey, but while we walk down the path with you, we will share our knowledge and insight, our successes and failures, but most of all we will share the experience together.

Our Mission is to promote healthy lifestyles in the Lexington community through affordable and quality personal fitness training.

Bryson Droz (Founder/Trainer)

Born in Frankfort, Bryson is the fun loving, quintessential comedian. He had spent many years training in the corporate, big gym atmosphere and saw a gap in the market for affordable personal training. He became unsatisfied with the “take a number” mentality and thus Axis Training was born in the Winter of 2010.

His vision is to make each client feel like they are at home.  A lot of positive motivation and reinforcement,  your schedule, and your way.  Each person he trains gets his individual attention to meet their goals...but there is one thing you can always count on, a healthy dose of fun and laughter while getting your fitness on!

Bryson has a Bachelor's in Kinesiology from the University of Kentucky.

Carl Pickering (Owner/Trainer)

Carl started his personal training career in the big box gyms in Louisville, KY.  The culture and ideology of money first and client second did not fit his idea of what quality personal training should look like.  After meeting Bryson and coming on board with Axis Training in the Summer of 2013, he feels fortunate to be in an environment where the client is first priority.

Carl takes pride in truly understanding a person; their needs, wants and limitations.  He pushes you as hard as you want to be pushed and provides that much needed positive motivation and critical feedback on your workouts.

As an Instructor of Exercise Science at Morehead State University, Carl also thoroughly enjoys some of the “brainier” questions from his clients and is always excited to share new information in the field with his clients.

Carl approaches the idea of health and fitness from his own lifestyle of physically engaging activities.  From rock climbing, to hiking, to obstacle races; Carl’s philosophy is to train in a way that allows one to be functionally fit for the real world and all it has to throw at you.

Carl has a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Kinesiology and a Master’s in Wellness Promotion from Morehead State University.

Wes Robinson(Trainer)

Early on, Wes has had a passion for fitness.  As an athlete, he learned the value of maintaining a fit and functional lifestyle.  In his first year of college in 2013, Wes became both a group fitness instructor and a personal trainer at Morehead State University’s Rec Center.  Due to his enthusiasm and drive, Wes quickly become their head trainer.  After 5 years with MSU, Wes is now going to bring that same passion and commitment to our clients at Axis Training!

While reaching goals are important, Wes believes that fun can make or break a program.  Getting to know each client makes the difference!  He loves to be challenged and pushed to the limit.

His hobbies include exercising, hiking, training for competitions, playing video games and relaxing.

Wes has a Bachelor’s in Health Promotion and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Wellness Promotion from Morehead State University.

“Each person is unique and should have his or her own personalized training program.  Adding in fun, however, may be the key to staying with a routine.” ~ Wes

Anne Bloomfield (Trainer)

Anne is a Texan living in Lexington and has been a life-long athlete. Throughout her school experience Anne competed in Track and Field, specifically the 100mH and the 300mH. Competing in meets like the Carl Lewis Invitational, The Texas Relays, and the Junior Olympics.

When she left school and stopped competing she discovered Spartan Races and became hooked. Her life long love of anything athletic lead her to get her first personal training certification in 2015 through the International Sports Science Association. Followed by getting her certification in Sports nutrition in 2017.

Her training philosophy is to get back to the basics and have fun while doing it. Exercise shouldn’t feel like a punishment but a way to release any negative thoughts holding you back.
